Job summary

Goalhanger is seeking a full-time writer to shape commercial content for its hit podcasts, based in our Oval office. Salary ranges from £35,000 to £40,000 OTE depending on experience.

You will draft host-read scripts, develop creative routes, refine copy with client feedback, and support branded campaigns across multiple shows, ensuring tone, accuracy and natural delivery for listeners.

Qualifications

• Experience in writing or developing creative content.
• Strong ear for tone of voice; writing for spoken delivery.
• Ability to generate ideas and angles from briefs.
• Adapt writing for different voices and formats.
• Attention to detail, with version control and clean amends.

Responsibilities

• Draft host-read scripts and sponsor messaging across commercial briefs; own first-pass writing for smaller campaigns.
• Develop alternate creative routes and script versions to strengthen work and speed approvals.
• Refine scripts using feedback from clients, producers and the creative team to ensure clarity and natural delivery.
• Support branded content campaigns and custom segments through research, outlines and first-pass writing.
• Contribute hooks, lines, tags and ideas to make brand integrations feel natural rather than intrusive.
• Understand tone, rhythm and humour of Goalhanger shows; adapt writing for hosts and audiences.
• Collaborate with producers and the commercial team to interpret briefs, respond to amends and move deliverables forward.
• Maintain clear, up-to-date scripts and working documents for teams and talent.
• Join recordings and talent sessions to understand what works in each host's voice.
• Maintain a high creative standard across all copy, ensuring it is natural, specific and compliant.
• Flag any mandatory messaging or factual claims early, ensuring accuracy.
• Support newsletters and additional campaign copy as needed.
