Job summary

Daifuku North America is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop new products for material handling applications, including conveyors, sortation, automated storage, order fulfilment, and robotic systems. You will draft specifications, device layouts, control schematics, and PLC logic, collaborating with the team to design standard offerings.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or related field, at least 2 years of experience, and hands-on work with Allen-Bradley software,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
• Experience with sortation and conveyance equipment or robotics design.
• Experience with Allen Bradley control software and tools.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of industrial automation systems including HMI and SCADA.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 40% within North America.

Responsibilities

• Concept, design, develop and engineer products that add value and are a solution to customers and market needs.
• Collaborate and review with others on the development team to develop products.
• Ensure products developed fit with current and future manufacturing operations.
• Ensure products developed meet competitive and market demands for performance and cost.
• Specify and develop a sequence of operations of automated equipment.
• Prepares schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication.
• Develop Programmable Logical Control (PLC) programs.
• Maintain product develop schedules and cost estimates.
• Follow established engineering standards and best practices including software revision control.
• Perform prototype development and testing.
• Perform on site beta testing to ensure safety, reliability, and other performance metrics are met.
• Investigate product issues in the field and determine root cause.
• Domestic travel up to 40% in North America.
