Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• Experience with sortation and conveyance equipment or robotics design required.
• Experience with Allen Bradley control software and tools required.
• Knowledge of electrical and safety codes for machine and equipment design including execution of risk assessments required.

Responsibilities

• Lead in the concepting and design of products that add value and meet customer/market needs.
• Collaborate with the development team to create products.
• Ensure products fit with current and future manufacturing operations.
• Ensure products meet performance and cost demands.
• Specify and develop sequence of operations for automated equipment.
• Prepare schematics and specifications for control panel fabrication.
• Develop PLC programs.
• Maintain product development schedules and cost estimates.
• Follow engineering standards including software revision control.
• Perform prototype development and testing; on-site beta testing for safety and reliability.
• Investigate product issues and determine root cause.
• Domestic travel up to 50% in North America, mostly within the Continental United States.
