Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a Jr. Control Technician to assist with electrical and control systems, including analysis, testing, and documentation.

The role involves supporting maintenance on breakers, motors, batteries, and associated equipment at the Amos Plant, with travel up to 30% to other facilities as schedule requires. The position requires an associates degree in electronics or equivalent experience, and a readiness to work from a homebase facility with adherence to safety

Qualifications

• Two-year Associates degree in electronics or a related field.
• High School Diploma with two or more years of related military experience, or five or more years of related industrial technical electrical or controls experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in locating and repairing defects in control systems.
• Perform low and medium voltage circuit breaker checks, repairs, and adjustments.
• Assist in preventive maintenance on equipment such as batteries, motors, and related systems.
• Record data, perform tests, and prepare reports, graphs, and curves.

Education

Two-year Associates degree in electronics or related field
