Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Entry-Level Project Engineer for a Milwaukee-based construction team. You will work with Project Managers, Superintendents, and clients to help ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.

You will assist with planning, schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and progress reporting while gaining hands-on experience in commercial construction from preconstruction through closeout. This onsite role offers exposure to Procore and field coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction/engineering or related field
• Internship or co-op with a General Contractor preferred
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to read construction drawings and specifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with planning, execution, and closeout of commercial construction projects.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, and engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in project meetings and maintain meeting minutes and action items.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project correspondence.
• Track and distribute construction documents and revisions.
• Maintain accurate project files and records.
• Assist with permit and inspection coordination.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality.
• Support Superintendents in resolving field issues and coordinating subcontractor activities.
• Verify completed work aligns with plans and specifications.
• Support safety initiatives and compliance on job sites.
• Assist with budget tracking, change orders, and project forecasting.
• Monitor procurement schedules and material deliveries.
• Participate in progress reporting and project status updates.
• Identify and mitigate potential project risks and delays.
