Overview

We are currently seeking a qualified Construction Inspector for our Phoenix, AZ office.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect various construction projects from beginning to completion.
• Thoroughly document daily progress, compute, and track materials and quantities.
• Conduct material sampling and testing, maintaining timely and accurate records of project progress.
• Read and interpret plans, details, specifications, and other contract documents.
• Recognize and report any deviations from contract documents.
• Conduct and oversee laboratory and field testing and reports on soils, aggregates, asphalt, and other materials.
• Maintain clear and effective written and oral communication; answer inquiries as required.
• Attend and conduct meetings to gain project insight prior to construction and for progress updates.
• Measure and scale distances with competent math skills to provide accurate documentation of work completed.

Preferred Skills

• Ability to travel and stay out of town a week at a time as required for on‑site observation, inspection, and testing.
• Knowledge of typical construction practices, ADOT specifications, and a willingness to learn on the job.
• Ability to work independently and incorporate efficient time‑management practices.
• Effective written and oral communication and coordination with all project stakeholders.
• Disciplined record‑keeping of accurate, timely, and descriptive daily, weekly, and monthly progress.
• Experience working with DOTs and a thorough understanding of their requirements and expectations.

Required Experience

• Over 1 year of construction experience (preferred).

Compensation: Hourly earnings $25.00 – $40.00 (depending on experience).
