Job summary

The City of Columbus is seeking an Inspector to oversee and inspect various construction projects for conformance to plans, drawings, and specifications. Duties include testing concrete, measuring layouts, and maintaining inspection reports.

Qualifications

• Completion of the twelfth school grade or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in construction inspection or field testing of materials.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction and maintenance projects for conformity to plans, drawings, and specs.
• Oversee installation of utility lines and structures.
• Prepare reports and maintain daily logs of inspections and tests.
• Perform material tests (concrete air content, slump tests, strength tests).
• Verify measurements, levels, alignment, and elevations of installations.
• Coordinate with contractors and issue notices for non-compliance.
