Job summary

Fishbeck in Columbus, OH is seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Civil Field team. You will perform field observation, document contractor activities, and verify adherence to design requirements across municipal projects.

You will collaborate with project engineers, prepare daily reports, communicate with residents and clients, and help resolve issues. A high school diploma is required, with 5+ years of municipal inspection experience preferred; travel and extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in municipal construction inspection and documentation.
• Knowledge of ODOT inspection standards; ODOT Project Inspector qualifications are a plus.
• Experience with water main, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and pavement construction preferred.
• Familiarity with Bluebeam, PlanGrid, and other digital platforms is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; ability to travel and work extended hours as needed.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) is a plus.
