Job description

AECOM/Hunt has an exciting position for a Junior Construction Estimator in our Dallas, TX offices.

• Participate in construction estimating systems and processes.
• Develop knowledge in estimating terminology, measures, concepts, and principles for preparing estimates.
• Gain exposure to various processes, project actions, and assumptions that may impact estimates.
• Gather, calculate, and compile data for developing all types of estimates.
• Perform routine aspects of estimating assignments.
• Assist senior specialists in estimating functions as required.
• Review drawings, specifications, work breakdown structures, charts of accounts, and internal data used in preparing estimates.

• Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS in Finance, Business Administration, or a similar field, or equivalent experience/education.
• Experience in commercial construction estimating.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in domestic construction estimating from a large general contractor or subcontractor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Sales and customer service experience in construction.
• Experience in creating estimates and proposals.
• Ability to interpret architectural plans thoroughly.
• Strong relationship management skills with clients.
• Knowledge of construction documentation.
• Proficiency in construction management software such as SmartBid, Construct Connect, Building Connected, and Procore.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams).
