Job summary

Onto Innovation is seeking a Compliance Engineer I to support safety and regulatory compliance for semiconductor manufacturing equipment across the product lifecycle. You will assist with product evaluations, electrical safety reviews, EMC testing, and documentation to ensure conformity with industry standards.

Collaboration with design, manufacturing, application, and field service teams is essential for developing compliant products.

Qualifications

BSEE or related engineering degree required.
Fundamental understanding of electrical power distribution and control systems.
Ability to read schematics, block diagrams, and technical docs.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD) preferred.
Experience with test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscopes).

Responsibilities

Evaluate equipment designs for compliance with SEMI, IEC, NFPA, and regulatory requirements.
Support electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and optical safety assessments.
Participate in hazard and risk analyses.
Review electrical schematics, safety circuits, interlocks, and emergency stop systems.
Coordinate compliance testing with internal teams and labs.
Prepare and maintain compliance documentation and test reports.
Support third‑party audits and evaluations.
Investigate compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
Assess changes for safety impacts and regulatory compliance.
