Onto Innovation seeks a Compliance Engineer I in Wilmington, MA to help ensure semiconductor equipment safety and regulatory compliance across the product lifecycle. You will work with design, manufacturing, applications, and field service teams to support evaluations, testing, and documentation.

The role suits a recent BSEE/EET graduate interested in machine safety, EMC, and regulatory compliance, with hands-on exposure to safety circuits, risk assessment, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Fundamental understanding of electrical power and control systems.
• Ability to read schematics and technical docs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with CAD software preferred.
• Experience using test equipment (DMMs, oscilloscope).

Responsabilités

• Evaluate equipment designs for SEMI/IEC/NFPA compliance.
• Support electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and optical safety assessments.
• Participate in hazard analyses and risk assessments.
• Review schematics, safety circuits, interlocks, and E-stops.
• Coordinate testing with internal teams and third‑party labs.
• Prepare compliance docs, test reports, and technical files.
• Support audits, inspections, and evaluation activities.
• Investigate compliance issues and support corrective actions.
• Assess engineering changes for safety/regulatory impact.
• Research regulatory updates and communicate impacts to teams.
