Job summary

Colossal Contracting, LLC is seeking a Junior Collections Specialist to join our accounts receivable team at our new St. Petersburg, FL office.

The role reports to the Accounts Receivable Manager and is ideal for a self-directed candidate eager to contribute to a motivated team. Responsibilities include collections inquiries, posting cash receipts, processing payments, resolving discrepancies, and preparing delinquency reports.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years’ experience in general accounting, accounts receivable and/or collections.
• Associates Degree in accounting, finance, and/or business or equivalent work experience.
• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable and Collection practices.
• Ability to Research and Analyze Information.
• Must not be afraid to pick up the phone and make frequent collections calls.

Responsibilities

• Perform collection inquiries
• Posting Daily Cash Receipts
• Process credit card payments and refunds
• Resolving payment discrepancies and disputes
• Preparing reports on delinquent accounts and customer payment profiles
• Assist with completing customer/vendor required forms, including W-9 forms and credit applications
• Prepare Executive Expense Reports
• Assist finance team and management with ad-hoc reporting
• Assist finance team with various projects as needed

Colossal Contracting, LLC is looking for an Junior Collections Specialist to support our accounts receivable team out of our newly opened St. Petersburg, FL office. This position will report to the Accounts Receivable Manager. This position is perfect for a self-directed individual looking to join a highly motivated team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform collection inquiries
• Posting Daily Cash Receipts
• Process credit card payments and refunds
• Resolving payment discrepancies and disputes
• Preparing reports on delinquent accounts and customer payment profiles
• Assist with completing customer/vendor required forms, including W-9 forms and credit applications

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in accounting, finance or business
• Experience working with QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions
• Experience working with Salesforce
• Knowledge and experience with Revenue Recognition
• Generally Tech Savvy, including proficiency in Excel and WebEx Teams
• Exposure to Government Contracting and various billing platforms

Travel

• None, this position will sit out of our St. Petersburg, FL office.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

• This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday 8:30am-5:30pm.
