Job summary

Code Ninjas of Reno NV is seeking a Sensei (Coding Instructor) to lead kids ages 5-14 in a fun, safe learning environment and to guide them through coding activities. The role focuses on daily coaching, student engagement, and building problem-solving skills in a dynamic center setting.

The ideal candidate will mentor and teach, enjoy working with families, and adapt to changing requirements while maintaining a positive club atmosphere that reinforces confidence and growth in young engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience mentoring, coaching, or tutoring children aged 5 and up.
• Experience working with the general public and families.
• Experience in teaching, mentoring or child care.
• Collaborates well with others and supports a team environment.
• Knowledgeable about coding and technology; able to pick up basics quickly.
• Fun to work with and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting with changing needs.

Responsibilities

• Training – go through the curriculum and learn it.
• Create a positive and safe environment in which students can grow.
• Work with children to determine skill sets.
• Provide feedback to parents after working with a student on a tour.
• Follow opening/closing duties daily.
• Clean dojo throughout the day to keep it up to corporate standards.
• Report daily to Center Manager regarding day’s activities and dojo productivity.
