Job summary

PND Engineers, Inc. in Anchorage seeks a Civil Engineer – Coastal & Water Resources (EIT, 0–3 years) to work on coastal, water resources and civil design projects across Alaska.

You will develop technical modeling, design and field skills while collaborating with senior engineers on challenging projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience with coastal processes, waves and currents, shoreline protection, hydrologic and hydraulic design, and waterfront infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Coastal, Ocean or Environmental Engineering (ABET).
• EIT certification in the United States; licensure as Professional Engineer in Alaska desired.
• 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience or coursework in coastal engineering, coastal processes, water resources, hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, or related areas.
• Familiarity with coastal/hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform coastal engineering analyses involving waves, water levels, currents, shoreline erosion and protection.
• Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for drainage, culverts, stormwater, and water resources projects.
• Develop and apply numerical models using MIKE 21, Delft3D, HEC-RAS, SRH-2D, HEC-HMS, HY-8.
• Assist with coastal and waterfront civil design, site development, utilities and drainage.
• Prepare calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications and cost estimates.
• Participate in field investigations and data collection across Alaska.
