API International in Oregon is seeking a motivated Junior CNC Programmer / CNC Setup to join our team. You will learn to create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam for lathes and mills while working alongside experienced machinists.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of CNC machining and manufacturing processes.
• CNC setup experience is highly valued.
• Willingness to transition into CNC programming.
• Familiarity with Mastercam Lathe and/or Mill is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
• Basic understanding of G-code, tooling, speeds, and feeds is helpful.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude and a strong willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam.
• Assist with programming basic machining operations.
• Set up and operate CNC lathes and mills as needed.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Assist with selecting cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining strategies.
• Verify toolpaths and make program adjustments as needed.
• Work with machinists and experienced programmers to troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
• Assist with setup documentation, tooling sheets, and program organization.
• Follow company quality, safety, and production procedures.
