Westmag is seeking a Junior CNC Machinist in South San Francisco to set up, run, and inspect precision components for drone motors and robot actuators. You will work with experienced machinists and engineers in a fast-growing, high-precision environment.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of CNC experience, can read blueprints, and are proficient with G-code/M-code. This role offers growth toward setup, programming, and process improvement with a daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–3 years of CNC machining experience in production environments.
• Experience setting up and running CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Knowledge of G-code and M-code, tool offsets, and work offsets.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable attendance and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsabilités

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to produce parts per print.
• Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T callouts and setup sheets.
• Load programs, set tools and offsets, perform first-article inspections.
• Make offsets and minor program adjustments to maintain tolerances.
• Conduct in-process inspections with calipers and micrometers.
• Monitor tool wear and replace or adjust tooling as needed.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and escalate when necessary.
• Record production and inspection data accurately.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and follow safety standards.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality to improve processes and yield.
