Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain scalable cloud environments across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. You will implement IaC using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi and develop automation scripts in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

You will support CI/CD pipelines (GitHub/GitLab/Azure DevOps/Jenkins) and assist with cloud security, identity, and access management.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
Initial professional, academic, or project experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, systems administration, software development, or IT operations.
Foundational knowledge of at least one major public cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
Understanding of cloud computing concepts including virtual machines, storage, networking, databases, identity, access management, and security.
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or Pulumi.
Basic scripting or programming experience with Python, PowerShell, Bash, JavaScript, or Go.
Understanding of Git-based source control, pull requests, branching, and collaborative development practices.
Awareness of CI/CD principles, automated testing, deployment processes, and continuous improvement.
Interest in monitoring, logging, alerting, incident management, and cloud reliability practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Clear communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience using AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM.
Experience using Azure services such as VMs, Storage, Functions, VNet, Entra ID.
Familiarity with Google Cloud services and CLI/SDKs.
Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, serverless computing, APIs, microservices, or managed cloud platforms.
Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, or Splunk.
Awareness of DevSecOps principles, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, encryption, and cloud security best practices.
Understanding of Agile delivery methods, Scrum, Kanban, DevOps, or SRE practices.
Experience with cloud labs, internships, university projects, or industry certifications.
Willingness to obtain cloud certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Digital Leader.

Responsibilities

Assist with design, configuration, deployment, and maintenance of secure and scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Support cloud migration, infrastructure modernisation, platform engineering, and digital transformation projects.
Help implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, Pulumi, or equivalents.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
Support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalents.
Assist with configuring cloud services including compute, storage, networking, databases, identity, and access management.
Support containerised workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, and managed container platforms.
Monitor cloud environments, respond to alerts, and elevate incidents where appropriate.
Investigate issues, perform initial troubleshooting, and contribute to preventative improvements.
Apply cloud security, access control, governance, backup, and compliance requirements.
Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, deployment information, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams.
Collaborate with cloud engineers, DevOps, software engineers, security teams, project teams, and clients.
