Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead cloud-based solutions across on-premise and AWS environments. The role emphasizes security, automation, and scalable architectures, with responsibilities spanning design, deployment, and governance.

You will guide teams on cloud initiatives, maintain PKI and SSL management, and ensure compliance with laws and company policies, while enabling high availability and performance.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or related field.
• 10+ years in IT Systems Engineering with 5+ years of Cloud experience, or 15 years of comparable work experience with 5+ years of Cloud experience.
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, ITIL Foundation, or comparable certifications preferred.
• ITIL Foundation or other IT Service Management methodologies preferred.
• Experience managing EC2 instances.
• Experience deploying and maintaining static content with CloudFront.
• Experience with AWS Landing Zone and/or AWS Control Tower.
• Ability to write and deploy CloudFormation templates within AWS Service Catalog.
• Experience with AWS PrivateLink and VPC Peering.
• Experience building, testing, and deploying Docker images.
• Experience with Maven and Gradle.
• Foundational understanding of Spring Boot, Angular, and J2EE application servers deployed into containers.
• Deep experience with AWS load balancers, S3, and CloudFront.
• Understanding of Apache and NGINX.
• Extensive experience with private and public SSL certificate management.
• Knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild/CodePipeline, and AWS CodeCommit.
• Experience with Unix shell scripts using Bash, Perl, or Python.
• Proven ability to lead medium to large IT infrastructure projects.
• Must be available to be on call 24x7x365.
• Minimal travel.
• Moderate physical exertion and stamina, including standing, sitting, walking, driving, or infrequent lifting.

Responsibilities

• Identify, implement, deploy, debug, and monitor cloud-based solutions
• Manage cloud environments in accordance with security guidelines
• Develop cloud implementation best practices
• Educate and train teams on cloud-based initiatives
• Make recommendations to help the company adapt to cloud technologies
• Manage multi-origin, zero-downtime, highly scalable web infrastructure on-premise and in the cloud
• Architect, build, scale, and secure middle-tier infrastructure with focus on automation and performance
• Manage digital certificate administration and Hardware Security Modules for an industry public key infrastructure
• Lead troubleshooting and integration best practices with cross-functional teams
• Manage integration-tier configuration and enforce security standards, regulations, and company policies
• Complete special projects and additional duties as required
• Maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and Flagstar policies
