Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Chattanooga, TN seeks an Associate Engineer to support the structural analysis and design of utility products.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, drafting, sales, and manufacturing to ensure designs meet customer specs and cost objectives. You will perform FEA, apply codes, translate requirements into manufacturable designs, and help deliver engineering deliverables on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 0–2 years of experience.
• Technical competence in structural engineering.
• Strong interpersonal communication with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to solve complex problems with attention to detail under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design using FEA and other software.
• Apply engineering principles, procedures, and codes to complete designs.
• Interpret customer specifications into manufacturable designs.
• Provide engineering support to drafting, sales, quoting, and project teams.
• Communicate technical information to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Assist with pricing and quotation activities.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure producibility and cost efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and team effectiveness.
