Job summary

Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce is seeking an Entry Level Engineer/Designer to support civil and structural tasks on residential and commercial post-frame projects. You will work under a licensed Professional Engineer, gaining hands-on experience with AutoCAD and civil design tools.

Responsibilities include drafting, calculations, site plans, grading, drainage, and permitting coordination. A clear path for professional development toward PE licensure is provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required.
• EIT/FE certification or willingness to obtain within 18 months is preferred.
• Experience with Excel is required.
• Experience with structural analysis (wood, steel, concrete) is a plus.
• Revit or other structural/civil analysis software experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design and analysis of post-frame and related building projects.
• Prepare and modify building plans and construction details using AutoCAD.
• Prepare and review plans, details, and calculations for columns, trusses, connections, foundations, and other structural elements.
• Assist with structural calculations using applicable building codes and engineering standards.
• Coordinate with drafting and design staff to ensure drawings are accurate and code-compliant.
• Help respond to field questions, RFIs, and construction-related engineering issues.
• Perform land-use, zoning, and ordinance reviews for site feasibility.
• Prepare and modify site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D (locations, setbacks, grading, drainage, access, parking).
• Assist with grading, stormwater management, and erosion/sedimentation control plans.
• Prepare and coordinate building and site permit applications.
• Work with internal teams and outside agencies to resolve permitting issues.
• Support development of standard details, design tools, templates, and internal procedures.
• Help improve consistency, efficiency, and quality across engineering and drafting processes.
• Collaborate with sales, drafting, operations, and construction teams.

Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting with structural and civil engineering tasks for residential and commercial post-frame building projects, working under the supervision of a licensed Professional Engineer.

Position Type:

• 0-5 years of experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with structural design and analysis of post-frame and related building projects
