Job summary

Ameren Corporation's Ameren Services is seeking a CAD Technician to support transmission substation projects, preparing drawings, layouts, and material schedules under supervision. This role will maintain CAD drawings and assist in training other CAD staff.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and pass the EEI Technical Aptitude test. Experience: two years CAD Technician or three years CAD CAD-related work; an Associate’s Degree in drafting/CAD is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pass EEI Technical Aptitude test.
• Two years as a CAD Technician or three years CAD-related work.
• Associate’s Degree in design drafting or CAD technology.
• At least 9 credit hours in civil/structural design.

Responsibilities

• Drafting work on construction and rehabilitation projects for transmission substations and related properties.
• Prepare finished drawings from designs, diagrams, layouts, notes, specifications, or verbal instructions.
• Make simple drawings or help with equipment arrangements and details.
• Maintain and update CAD drawings in the electronic drawing management system.
• Assist in training or mentoring CAD staff as assigned.
