Job summary

Delaware River and Bay Authority is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer I for the Delaware Memorial Bridge in New Castle, DE. This civil engineering role focuses on project management, construction oversight, and contract administration under senior guidance.

Responsibilities include planning work schedules, reviewing plans, coordinating with regulators, and preparing budgets and pay estimates. CAD and project management tools are used to coordinate with operations and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with ABET‑accredited program.
• Familiarity with CAD and standard project software (MS Office, MS Project, Capex, Primavera).
• Experience in engineering/construction environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hold responsible charge of one or more engineering/construction projects.
• Manage consultants and inspection personnel.
• Assist senior project engineers on project management aspects.
• Analyze engineering problems and develop solutions.
• Assist in capital improvement program planning.
• Test and evaluate materials, equipment, systems, facilities.
• Perform contract administration duties and prepare pay estimates.
• Review drawings and submittals for design conformance.
• Oversee projects ensuring safety, quality, and compliance.
• Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams.
