Job summary

The County of Delaware is seeking an Infrastructure Manager to lead bridge maintenance and capital projects across Delaware County. You will coordinate with consulting engineers, PennDOT, and municipal officials to advance the county’s bridge program, ensuring safety, reliability, and sustainable infrastructure.

Based at the Government Center in Media, PA, you may travel to project sites for progress reviews and inspections; telework may be possible part-time after probation with a secure home

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, or related field.
• At least 5 years in bridge design or construction with 2 years in leadership.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Valid PA driver’s license before and during tenure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Experience presenting in public meetings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with NBIS and bridge inspections preferred.
• Familiarity with Delaware County is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and direct consultant teams in engineering design and construction.
• Issue RFPs for professional services and evaluation criteria.
• Review design submissions and ensure alignment with scope and budget.
• Coordinate right-of-way and construction easement processes.
• Serve as primary liaison with bridge management consultant and municipalities.
• Attend planning, design, and progress meetings.
• Oversee NBIS compliance and annual bridge inspections.
• Prepare reports and communications for the Director of Public Works.
• Monitor contractor performance and approve change orders.
• Maintain project files and documentation.
