Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a junior Civil Engineer to join our Water Services team in Phoenix, AZ. Under direct supervision, you will assist with basic to moderate engineering designs and ensure alignment with regulations and firm policies.

You will contribute to technical knowledge, support design documentation, and collaborate on conference materials, while traveling up to 10% of the time. This role offers growth within a collaborative, inclusive environment and exposure to meaningful water industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1 year of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create basic to moderate complexity engineering designs involving site layout, grading, hydraulics and hydrology, water and sewer systems, storage tanks, foundations and stormwater.
• Review draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensure that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Perform site reviews and studies to align with location specs and update requirements as needed.
• Contribute to Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and design documentation.
• Submit technical papers and designs for publishing to journals.
• May create or collaborate on posters or conference materials.
