Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer for water and wastewater infrastructure projects in the Charlotte area, with opportunities across Cary, NC and other regional locations. The role emphasizes growth, safety, and hands-on experience while supporting diverse, impactful projects.

You will work within an employee-owned company culture and gain exposure to design, construction, and digital delivery methods across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Pre-employment onboarding may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

• Develops familiarity by reading, understanding and applying departmental design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes and BV policies.
• Coordinates with multidisciplinary project teams to design and construct water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Participates in project coordination meetings and resolves design challenges to meet client requirements.
• Performs routine research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Prepares basic engineering calculations following standard methods and principles.
• Assists with development of project schedules, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables.
