Job summary

Mead & Hunt is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Transportation group. You will conduct field observations of roadway conditions, prepare cost estimates and specifications, and assist in reports, plans and designs for projects.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or within nine months of hire) and may pursue an EIT. Knowledge of Open Roads Designer, AutoCAD/Civil3D, and MS Office is preferred; surveying/inspection experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university or the ability to obtain the degree within nine months of hire date.
• Passed Fundamentals Exam (EIT) or ability to within six months of start date
• MS Office suite of software
• Survey or construction inspection
• Modeling software (Open Roads Designer, AutoCAD/Civil3D)

Responsibilities

• Field observations of roadway conditions and data collection
• Prepare cost estimates and specifications
• Identify and apply or use the standards, guidelines and principals in the AASHTO Green Book, Highway Capacity Manual, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Highway Safety Manual, and other local and national standards
• Assist in the analysis, preparation, or modification of reports, specifications, plans, schedule, studies, permits, and designs for projects
• Technical writing
• Attend client meetings
• Assist in client contact and communications.
