Job summary

Mead & Hunt, established in 1900, seeks an Entry-Level Roadway Engineer to join the Transportation team. You will develop roadway geometry, perform design modeling with ORD, and prepare plans, cost estimates, and specifications. A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering is required.

Ideal candidates may have transportation design coursework, ORD modeling experience, and MS Word/Excel/Project proficiency. Travel and license requirements apply. Mead & Hunt fosters employee ownership and growth.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop horizontal and vertical geometry and typical sections.
• Roadway Design Modeling using Bentley Open Roads Designer.
• Prepare plans, hearing maps, cost estimates and specifications.
• Identify and apply standards such as AASHTO Green Book, MUTCD, HSM.
• Assist in analysis, preparation, or modification of reports, calculations, studies, permits, designs.

Mead & Hunt is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our Transportation team as an Entry-Level Roadway Engineer.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop horizontal and vertical geometry and typical sections
• Roadway Design Modeling using Bentley Open Roads Designer
• Prepare plans, hearing maps, cost estimates and specifications
• Identify and apply or use the standards, guidelines and principals in the AASHTO Green Book, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, Highway Safety Manual, and other local and national standards
• Assist in the analysis, preparation, or modification of reports, calculations, studies, permits, and designs for projects
• Attend client meetings and assist in client contact and communications
• Field observations of roadway conditions and data collection

A valid driver’s license and some travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.

• EIT or ability to obtain within 6 months
• Experience using MS-Word, Excel, Project
