Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Early Career Civil Engineer (Overhead Transmission Lines) for our Austin, TX office, with Houston, TX also considered. You will contribute to the Power and Energy Team, supporting design, development, and construction of transmission line projects.

Responsibilities include data gathering, basic design tasks, and documentation in line with safety and industry standards. Travel may be required; strong writing and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build concepts and civil construction practices.
• Knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, regulations and record‑keeping.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally; ability to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assemble data from sites, surveys, GIS, and maps for project development.
• Assist with basic professional civil engineering work and site condition reviews.
• Provide entry-level technical support for design requirements and safety considerations.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on engineering issues.
• Produce complete, accurate project documentation using drawings and logs.
• Follow safety guidelines and site procedures across activities.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to company code of conduct and policies.
• Support additional responsibilities as needed.
