Job summary

Topographic OM, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Civil Engineer to provide technical support in the development and design of basic civil infrastructure, including paving, drainage, grading, water, and sewer improvements, under supervision.

You will assist the project team with drafting, plans, and cost opinions, interpret sketches, and prepare quantity takeoffs. Collaboration and adherence to design standards are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills and teamwork are essential.
• Strong oral and written communication are required.
• Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of civil design principles (hydraulics, hydrology, soil mechanics, etc.).
• Proficiency in CAD and related design tools is needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and designing basic paving, drainage, grading, water, and sanitary sewer infrastructure.
• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost opinions under supervision.
• Interpret rough sketches and redlines to edit plans and drawings.
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and assist with cost opinions.
• May prepare project-related technical reports.
• Interact with jurisdictional staff to obtain approvals for permits and construction.
