Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design in Columbia, Maryland is seeking an Engineering Designer to support Civil/Site projects. You will perform site development calculations, create designs in Civil 3D, and collaborate with experienced engineers from concept to completion.

The role offers hands-on experience, exposure to multiple disciplines, and growth opportunities in civil engineering. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools is favored.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 0-2+ years of related experience; Engineer in Training preferred.
• Strong CAD skills and proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, HydroCAD, WaterCAD.
• Valid driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
• Develop drawings by modifying or replicating a prior project and applying changes from redlined drawings.
• Ensure designs meet company and client standards.
• Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology and calculations.
• Interpret drawings from multiple disciplines and respond to RFIs.
• Conduct field inspections and surveys, document findings.
• Apply code provisions to design and work with engineers on project designs.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D daily.
• Document design options for the project manager.
• Evaluate and apply standard engineering techniques with adaptations.
