Job summary

EPMA in Houston is seeking a Jr. Network Admin/Engineer for a long-term onsite contract in Downtown Houston. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining Cisco-based networks in an oil & gas environment.

Responsibilities include configuring Cisco devices, troubleshooting network issues, and coordinating with field technicians to activate circuits. A Bachelor's degree and 3–5 years of experience are preferred, with a strong emphasis on Cisco networking and storage/WAN expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking administration, information technology, or a similar field.
• At least 3–5 years' experience as a network engineer.
• Detailed knowledge of Cisco networking systems.
• Experience with Cisco Routers & Switches.
• Experience with storage engineering, wide-area networking, and network virtualization.

Responsibilities

• Analyzing existing hardware, software, and networking systems.
• Ticket processing from remedy to assist in break/fix solutions for network gear.
• Configuring Cisco equipment and shipping out to field for installation (routers, switches, and APs).
• Working with field technicians and carriers to activate circuits.
• Troubleshooting issues with end users and networks.
• Creating and presenting networking reports.
• Training end-users on Cisco networking products.
• Upgrading/replacing hardware and software systems as required.
• Applying network security upgrades.
• Testing and troubleshooting installed Cisco Systems.
