Job summary

CoorsTek is seeking a Materials Engineer I to support ceramic materials production through data-driven characterization, process monitoring, and continuous improvement. The role emphasizes documentation, collaboration with operations, and hands-on knowledge of manufacturing processes, SPC, and quality controls.

You will work to maintain product quality, analyze material behavior, and contribute to process improvements across production lines in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics, Materials or related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintains material properties and performance by providing feedback to operations based on data from raw materials, in-process testing and finished material characterization.
• Has working knowledge of material characterization and analytic test methods; including particle size/surface area analysis, comminution, powder properties, compaction-shrinkage behavior and chemistry.
• Maintains complete and accurate written records and process documentation for processes and improvements to existing product or processes.
• Participates in continuous improvement activities through research, benchmarking and identification of improved methods or tools.
