Job summary

United Utility Services in The Woodlands, TX; New Orleans, LA; Palm Beach Gardens, FL is hiring an entry-level CAD Tech I to support drafting and permitting efforts. You will produce and revise drawings under supervision, learn CAD platforms, and help maintain project records.

This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork across field and office settings. Ideal candidates hold an associate or technical CAD credential with 0–2 years of experience and a willingness to learn drafting

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical degree, or certificate in drafting/CAD, or equivalent experience.
• 0–2 years of experience; entry-level candidates welcomed.
• Computer proficiency and ability to learn CAD platforms.
• Attention to detail and willingness to learn drafting standards.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills and strong teamwork.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to perform limited local travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist CAD Techs and designers with drafting, redlines, and revisions to project drawings.
• Produce basic CAD deliverables following United Utility and client drafting standards.
• Support permitting document preparation and organization.
• Maintain organized drawing files and project records in relevant systems.
• Learn drafting symbol libraries and standard conventions.
• Incorporate review comments and markups accurately and on schedule.
• Coordinate with team members to complete drafting tasks.
• Uphold safety, ethics, and compliance expectations in all work activities.
