Job summary

United Utility Services is seeking a CAD Tech II to produce straightforward CAD drawings and permitting deliverables. This role often works independently, applying CAD proficiency and client standards to routine drafting assignments.

You will coordinate with designers and engineers to complete drafting packages on schedule, maintain drawing files, and support standardization efforts while upholding safety and compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in drafting/CAD is required or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years CAD experience with relevant certifications is preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD platforms and drafting standards; ability to work independently on drafting tasks.

The salary for this position is $35.00-$45.00 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

About the Role

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical degree, or certificate in drafting/CAD, or equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years of CAD experience, with relevant certifications.
• Proficiency in CAD platforms and drafting standards.
• Ability to work independently on straightforward drafting and permitting tasks.
• Attention to detail and effective communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to perform limited local travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with drafting and permitting workflows in an engineering or utility environment.
• Familiarity with GIS-based design and work management systems.
• Relevant CAD or industry certifications.
• Understanding of drafting symbology and construction standards.

This position is primarily office-based with occasional field visits to client facilities and job sites. Field work may involve walking on uneven terrain, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, and the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE). Travel is expected to be limited and based on project needs.
