Job summary

Feeser's Food Distributors, based in Harrisburg, PA, is seeking a Junior Buyer to join the purchasing team onsite. The role supports inventory replenishment, purchase order administration, supplier communication, and data analysis to optimize stock and ensure timely deliveries.

You will collaborate with warehouse and AP teams, help balance inventory, and monitor supplier performance in a fast-paced foodservice distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor degree in business, supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or finance.
• 0–2 years purchasing, merchandising, inventory, warehouse, customer service, or distribution experience.
• Previous food service or food distribution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage purchase orders under established purchasing guidelines.
• Review system-generated purchasing recommendations.
• Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding order confirmations and shipment status.
• Resolve discrepancies related to quantities, pricing, or deliveries.
• Inventory support and balancing to support service and turn objectives.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify stock shortages.
• Coordinate with warehouse and receiving teams regarding incoming products.
• Work with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Maintain purchasing records and support new vendor/item setup.
