Job summary

Priority Personnel is seeking a Jr. Buyer for a manufacturing company in New Braunfels, TX. The role focuses on purchasing electro‑mechanical components, coordinating with QA, engineering, and production to ensure on‑time deliveries.

You will review supplier offers, prepare bids, and maintain purchasing records. The candidate should have an associate degree and at least 3 years of purchasing experience with strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Technology or a related field.
• 3 years' experience in purchasing electro-mechanical assembly components with emphasis on casting, stampings, and powdered metal components; or an equivalent combination of education and/or related experience.
• Knowledge of purchasing methods and procedures, laws, and regulations.
• Knowledge of local and national market practices and pricing methods.
• Knowledge of material receiving and invoicing procedures.
• Ability to interpret information and draw specifications for a variety of components and commodities.
• Ability to evaluate the financial, production, and delivery capability of potential bidders and/or vendors.
• Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm and professional in all circumstances.

Responsibilities

• Consults with user departments on purchases and selects vendors to meet organizational requirements.
• Reviews inventory levels and material requirements planning to anticipate manufacturing needs.
• Prepares detailed specifications for solicitation of bids.
• Maintains vendor relationships and coordinates purchasing needs with cross-functional teams.
• Presents product and price information from vendors and prepares purchase requisitions.
• Reviews cost, delivery timeliness, and conformance to specifications to provide best value.
