Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required or equivalent.
• 3 years’ purchasing experience in electro-mechanical components preferred.
• Knowledge of purchasing methods, laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with market practices and pricing methods.
• Experience with receiving and invoicing procedures.
• Ability to interpret specifications for components and commodities.
• Ability to evaluate bidders and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Consult with user departments to select vendors that meet requirements.
• Review inventory levels and materials planning to determine needs.
• Prepare detailed specifications for bids.
• Maintain internal/external relationships and vendor contacts.
• Coordinate purchases with production, QA, marketing and engineering.
• Obtain product and price information from vendors and prepare requisitions.
• Explore new supply sources and materials options.
• Evaluate delivery schedules and conformance to specs for best value.
• Provide technical purchase information for various components and services.
• Prepare and maintain purchasing logs and reports.
• Support cross‑departmental functions to meet customer needs.
• Performs other duties as needed.
