Job summary

New York Ag Connection in New York, NY is seeking a Junior Buyer to assist the senior buying team in procurement, vendor coordination, market and price analysis, and inventory management.

You will interact with finance, sales and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operation while handling purchasing, quotes, pricing negotiations, and purchase orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management.
• High school diploma with 2 years purchasing/sourcing or inventory experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced food service environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation, time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in purchasing /sourcing food products to meet demand
• Request quotes
• Negotiate pricing
• Enter and track purchase orders
• Track deliveries, resolve shipping/invoicing discrepancies
• Monitor stock levels in the warehouse to prevent shortages
