Job summary

Abnormal is seeking a Software Engineer I for the Federated Intelligence Platform team. You will design and maintain high-volume ingestion and low-latency services across global infrastructures, contributing to reliable, scalable, and security-critical systems in a data- and AI-rich security environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of professional software engineering experience, or equivalent
• Solid programming skills in Python, Go, or TypeScript/JavaScript
• Strong fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, debugging, and version control
• Experience with relational or NoSQL storage and schema design
• Cloud infrastructure and container orchestration using AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Knowledge of high-scale event-driven architectures and message queues
• Clear, concise communication in a remote, distributed team
• Growth mindset and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Implement and ship features from design to rollout with seniors.
• Own tasks end-to-end: clarify requirements, code, test, and validate.
• Improve reliability and performance by fixing bugs and bottlenecks.
• Participate in operational work and learning incident handling.
• Collaborate with partner teams to understand upstream/downstream interactions.
• Use AI tools in development loop and validate AI outputs.
• Contribute to docs and runbooks; share learnings from reviews and incidents.
• Seek feedback and pair with teammates to grow into larger work.
