Key responsibilities
- Plan, execute, review, and finalise audit engagements while ensuring compliance with auditing standards and firm methodologies.
- Perform quality control reviews on audit files and attend high-risk client planning and final Annual Financial Statement meetings.
- Conduct technical research and provide practical recommendations on complex audit matters.
- Review and complete tax returns, manage SARS audits, verifications, and objections, and prepare provisional tax calculations.
- Supervise, mentor, and train Audit Supervisors and audit staff, driving a collaborative high-performance culture.
- Review and approve weekly timesheets for Audit Supervisors.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on audit and technical tax queries.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant designation (CA(SA)).
- 2 to 3 years of post-articles experience within an audit firm environment.
- Strong, demonstrated experience in external auditing and South African taxation legislation.
- Proven experience in file finalisation, quality control, and reviewing the work of audit trainees or supervisors.
- Strong technical research capabilities and experience managing complex audit engagements.
