Job summary

BARNES DISABILITY ADVOCATES seeks a Junior Associate to support its Social Security Disability Benefits practice in Utah. This full-time role focuses on helping clients navigate the disability process with proactive, team-based representation.

The attorney will meet with clients, draft briefs, conduct legal research, and represent clients at hearings, primarily in Lehi, UT, with some travel. A strong dedication to client service and collaboration is required.

Responsibilities

• Frequently meet with clients at initial appointments to determine how we can best help them with their claim and to help them understand the disability process.
• Prepare and draft appeal briefs to the Social Security Administration
• Develop legal strategy and provide practical, client-focused legal advice.
• Conduct legal research and remain current on developments in Social Security rules, regulations, and case law.
• Prepare for and represent clients during disability hearings.
• Work as a team with staff and other attorneys to help keep our cases moving forward and provide our clients with high quality representation.

Barnes Disability Advocates, a rapidly growing Utah firm, seeks a Junior Associate to help with our Social Security Disability Benefits practice.

At Barnes Disability Advocates we believe everybody matters. For almost twenty years, our firm has helped client navigate the difficult and often tangled process of obtaining Social Security Disability Benefits.

We do not take a passive approach to legal representation. We expect our attorneys to listen to clients, work on setting expectations, and function as a team with the client, our staff, and other attorneys to provide high quality representation. This requires an attorney who can take ownership of their cases, communicate proactively, and actively improve a client’s case every time they touch the file.

Location: This is not a remote position. The attorney will be located in our Lehi, UT office.

Employment Type: This is a full-time position. Hours will be from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Salary & Benefits: Salary of $85,000-$105,000.
