Karber Corporation (K CORP) is seeking a highly organized Junior Assistant Controller to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role supports the Controller and leadership with accurate financial reporting, internal controls, and efficient accounting processes in a fast-paced construction environment.

You will assist with daily accounting operations, month-end close, job costing, WIP schedules, and budgeting while collaborating with project managers and operations teams to improve profitability

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years of experience in construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC, plumbing, or related industry.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in managing daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Assist and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with construction job cost accounting and project profitability analysis.
• Prepare and monitor Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and reporting.
• Monitor cash flow and assist with financial forecasting.
• Support annual budgeting and planning processes.
• Ensure GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
• Assist with audits, tax filings, and financial reviews.
• Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to review project costs, billing, and change orders.
• Analyze financial trends and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
• Develop and improve accounting procedures and reporting processes.
• Mentor accounting and payroll staff as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 2+ years of experience in construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC, plumbing, or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of construction accounting and job costing.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience preparing financial statements and account reconciliations.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with Bluebeam, Sage Intacct, Sage Expense, or similar construction accounting software.
• Experience with certified payroll reporting.
• Experience with multi-location accounting.
• Knowledge of Arizona and Texas construction and contractor regulations.
