Job summary

City of Cincinnati is seeking an Architectural Technician 1 to support paraprofessional duties in rehabilitation projects for public buildings and facilities. The role involves early design support, coordination with Architects and senior Technicians, and assisting in collecting facility management information.

Preferred candidates have coursework or experience in architectural drafting, geometry, and construction practices, with ability to prepare clear drawings and estimates under supervision.

Qualifications

• Completion of 90 quarter credit hours in engineering, architecture, surveying, or related fields (ACE-aligned).
• Two years of paid architectural/engineering technical work experience may substitute for coursework.
• Knowledge of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry to perform calculations.

Responsibilities

• Locate original building plans and maps to assess proposed design changes.
• Assist in analysis and review of building conditions and utility coordination.
• Draft and prepare architectural drawings, details, and notes for plans and specifications.
