Job Title: Junior Architectural Designer

Location: New York City (In-Office Role)

Our firm is appreciated for blending an understanding of vernacular architecture, modernism and artisanship, with a focus on an intimate understanding of construction, fabrication, and building science. Job Overview:

We are seeking a talented Junior Architectural Designer with 3-5 years of professional experience in high-end residential, hospitality, and retail interiors. The ideal candidate is a versatile designer with a strong sense of aesthetics, technical proficiency, and the ability to manage projects from concept through construction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects through all phases, including Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
  • Prepare and review architectural and interior design drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, consultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Research and source furniture, lighting, fabrics, wallpapers, and interior finishes within project budgets and aesthetics.
  • Create custom millwork, furniture, and FF&E specifications, including pricing, ordering, and tracking.
  • Conduct design studies, digital modeling, product/material research, and client presentations.
  • Engage in on-site installation, decorative styling, and coordination with contractors.
  • Assist in the preparation of custom furniture and millwork drawings, renderings, and construction details.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, NYC zoning laws, ADA regulations, and construction standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution.
  • 3-5 years of post-graduate experience in architecture or interior design, with relevant NYC project experience.
  • Proficiency in REVIT, RHINO, AND ENSCAPE is required.
  • Strong communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Experience with construction administration, consultant coordination, and technical detailing.
  • Knowledge of relevant designers, vendors, materials, and construction methods across retail, hospitality, and high-end residential interiors.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and passion for design.

Benefits & Compensation:

  • Salary $70,000 - $90,000, based on experience.
