Schmalz is seeking a Junior Applications Engineer to learn vacuum automation products and robotics within a manufacturing setting. You will support customers, partners, and field engineers by applying theory to practical solutions and by testing products with vacuum technology.

The role emphasizes collaboration, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks, including travel to customer sites and occasional trade show attendance.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in mechanical or electrical engineering required; bachelor’s preferred.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proven organizational abilities and proficiency with MS Office and CRM tools.

Responsibilities

  • Learn Schmalz Vacuum Automation & Handling Systems product ranges and general robotics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Apply vacuum automation theory to recommend safe, effective solutions for unique applications.
  • Support end customers, distributors, sales engineers, and key account managers with application inquiries.
  • Test customer products with vacuum technology.
  • Provide advanced quotations to customers and distributors.
  • Utilize Solidworks CAD drawing skills to interpret data and manage system sales.
