Job summary

Oneida Professional Services is seeking a Junior Applications Developer to support DINFOS Tech & Logistics at Fort Meade, MD. You will design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and participate in all phases of the SDLC to meet academic, administrative, and operational needs.

You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions, build interfaces and databases, and ensure security and accessibility compliance across projects.

Qualifications

• Experience developing and supporting enterprise software applications in a professional environment.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft .NET technologies and application development frameworks.
• Experience with relational database design, development, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies and SDLC best practices.
• Experience gathering and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience developing web-based applications and user interfaces.
• Understanding of application security principles, secure coding practices, and web application security requirements.
• Knowledge of Section 508 accessibility standards and requirements.
• Experience creating technical documentation and supporting application deployments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain software applications.
• Participate in all phases of the SDLC from requirements to sustainment.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and validate requirements.
• Develop interfaces, workflows, reports, and screen layouts for applications.
• Create and optimize relational databases for performance and reliability.
• Support deployment activities and maintain development/test/production environments.
• Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing maintenance and enhancements.
• Produce technical design docs, testing plans, and user guides.
• Ensure security, coding standards, and accessibility compliance.
• Assist with content management and security initiatives as needed.
