Job summary

Consumers Credit Union in Illinois is seeking an early-career Application Security Analyst to strengthen application protections and support testing, remediation, and SDLC security controls. The role is based in Lake Forest with a hybrid schedule.

Salary range USD 67,980 to 108,768 and eligibility for an annual bonus. Local candidates in Northern Illinois or Southeast Wisconsin preferred; on-call rotation approximately every 6 weeks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, CS, IT, or related field.
• 2+ years of cybersecurity or IT experience.
• Exposure to application security concepts and remediation.
• Familiarity with OWASP Top 10.
• Basic programming or scripting knowledge.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn security tools.
• Security certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with application security testing using industry tools.
• Review findings and support remediation with development teams.
• Maintain WAF protections and investigate threats.
• Participate in secure design discussions and code reviews.
• Support API security reviews and secure data handling.
• Track vulnerability remediation across teams.
• Document security processes and tools.
• Research threats and best practices including OWASP Top 10.
• Collaborate to promote secure SDLC practices.
