Job summary

A large U.S. insurance company, headquartered in Chicago, seeks an IT Security Analyst II on a contract basis. This hybrid role requires two days onsite weekly in Chicago, IL, and focuses on leading security initiatives across projects and cloud deployments.

The position involves risk assessments, security controls, and cross-domain guidance to project teams, with emphasis on incident response, policy compliance, and cloud security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• Typically a minimum of seven years of technical experience in the security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications and network protocols or an equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

• Lead security adoption and delivery with IT management and project staff through risk assessments and security controls.
• Engage with project teams across development and deployment phases.
• Identify vulnerabilities and assess risks for IT projects.
• Develop security threat assessments and security stories for apps and projects.
• Advise on security methods and controls such as firewalls and encryption.
• Provide guidance on cloud security standards and governance.
