Job summary

Decision Technologies, Inc. is hiring a Junior Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace) to support the Navy's Terminal Defense Systems program in Arlington, VA (or Louisville, KY). You will analyze supersonic aerodynamics, launcher dynamics, and assist with shipboard hardware integration.

You will work with senior engineers using SolidWorks, Inventor, CFD/FEA tools, and help move designs from simulation to live fleet deployment. Eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics or related field.
• Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, heat transfer and vibrations.
• U.S. citizen eligible for DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• 3D CAD modeling, digital prototyping of missile airframes and launcher interfaces.
• Launcher kinematics analysis for high‑speed robotic systems and motion planning.
• Aerodynamics and flight dynamics assessment using CFD data and wind tunnel results.
• Thermal analysis and FEA using ANSYS/NASTRAN for harsh marine environments.
• Shipboard mechanical integration and review of SIDs and interfaces.
• Live test planning, telemetry review, and validation against models.
• Review of OEM ECPS, TDPs, and ICDs for mechanical modifications.
