Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Kansas is seeking a Material Review Engineer to join the MRB team. You will disposition nonconformances under FAR/OEM requirements and support production by applying knowledge of machined parts, composites, and assemblies.

The role emphasizes root-cause investigation, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive problem-solving to maintain quality in aerospace manufacturing.

Qualifications

  • ABET-accredited engineering degree or will have completed by July 31, 2027.
  • Experience with Material Review Board in aerospace production environment.
  • Aerospace or mechanical engineering degree preferred.
  • Experience with composite materials in design.
  • Knowledge of CATIA V5 programs.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting aircraft maintenance documents, engineering repair design, and repair substantiation.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the MRB within an aerospace production or preproduction environment.
  • Dispositions for production nonconformances following FAR and OEM requirements.
  • Use independent authority for dispositioning nonconformances on aircraft components and systems.
  • Apply knowledge of machined parts, weldments, composites, and large assemblies.
  • Investigate root causes and recommend design/disposition improvements.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional teams to drive engineering initiatives.
